FORMULATION, DEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION OF ANTI-RHEUMATIC TRANSDERMAL PAD USING HERBAL EXTRACTS ON CFA-INDUCED ARTHRITIS IN RATS

ABSTRACT

This study was intended to formulation, development and evaluation of anti-rheumatic transdermal pad using combined petroleum ether extract of Cardiospermum halicacabum L. and Delonix elata L. leaves. The arthritis investigations were carried out against subcutaneous injection of 0.05ml of (0.5%w/v) complete freunds adjuvant.

Body weights, paw edema (inflammation), hematological parameter and histological analysis of bone damage were assessed in rats with Freund’s adjuvant induced arthritis. Oral (400mg/kg) & topical (50&100mg) dosage of CPCD showed significant and dose-dependent anti-arthritic effects compared to arthritis control group. This finding suggests that extract of Cardiospermum halicacabum L. and Delonix elata L. leaves can be used cheap trx canada against inflammatory and autoimmune disease and supports the traditional use of Cardiospermum halicacabum L. and Delonix elata L. for rheumatism and other inflammatory diseases.
